Hunter Groves
Exhibit opens First Friday, September 2nd, 2022 from 5pm-9pm and runs through the month of September.
Hello, I’m Hunter. Creative activities have always brought me tranquility and I feel confident they always will. I am honored to say that this is the first time I have shown a body of work in a gallery setting. I would like to thank Brian and his team of curators here at the Garfield Gallery for this exciting opportunity.
The pieces in this lobby are an amalgamation of several years of on-and-off experimentation with art. A variety of styles and influences coexist here. Vibrant and fun, moody and somber, abstract and representational; I’ve tried to give these descriptive pairs their own voice and stage. Given this, Letting Go is a bit of a mish-mash collection of some of my favorite works. This show does not lend itself to a target theme or narrative and is not meant to, because sometimes I think it best to simply let works speak for themselves. If it interests you, more of my scribbles can be viewed on my Instagram page, @hgrovesart.
Thanks for stopping in and I hope you enjoy the viewing.
This show is dedicated to the memory of Aaron Joseph Scott Ricketts, who orchestrated the sale of my first painting and always encouraged me to explore my creative side.
